One Blood International Pledges To Make Liberia Self-Sufficient In Food

E-mail
The Apostle, Dr. Kenneth P. Jackson of One Blood International has pledged to help make Liberia self sufficient in food production, especially rice.
Dr. Jackson spoke to media executives Tuesday at his headquarters in Paynesville City. He said any country that fails to feel itself is easily manipulated.
The One Blood International Chief Executive said he has passion for the truth and is burdened by how the African continent is being viewed by the rest of the world and stated that with his footprint left in the snow of the United States, he has come to Africa, especially Liberia to show that with the commitment of the people, the continent can be self reliance in food production.
He stated that One Blood International was started in the US in 1975 with US$250 and has since operated in over 30 countries.
According to Dr. Jackson, Liberia, where he said he has traced his root as an African-American, will serve as the global headquarters for One Blood International. He also pointed out that Liberia is suited because it is the only country on the African continent that was not subjugated by colonial rule.
He indicated that from 1995 to 1999, he coordinated direct shipment of containers of medical supplies, clothing, food and etc to Sierra Leone and Liberia. Dr. Jackson disclosed that determined to help make a difference in the lives of those in the ECOWAS region, beginning in the soil rich and unpolluted Mano River Union states, a national assessment was conducted with the aim of designing post-war development strategies  and support.
He stated that because Sierra Leone was more stable at the time, Phase 1-A was activated in Sierra Leone behind the lines, where the first private farm seed rice distributions to inaccessible areas to reduce starvation.
Dr. Jackson stated that in 2005, Liberian intervention was activated and began the start of a planned 1,000 acre sugar cane farm in Careyburg, Montserrado County. He also disclosed that there is another project in Bong County and hope to increase Liberia’s food production within two years.
