ALCOP, PRODEMP Officially Pledge Support To Ellen

Two of Liberia ‘s opposition  Alhaji G. V Kromah- ALCOP & (PRODEMP) Sekou D. Connehpolitical Parties, the All Liberia Coalition Party(ALCOP) and the Progressive Democratic Party(PRODEMP) have officially broken silence to pledge supports to the second term bid of  Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President and Standard Bearer of the governing Unity Party.

    The political parties said their decision to support the UP Standard Bearer is intended to save guard the interest of the state.
     Speaking yesterday at program, which was also attended by UP National Campaign Manager Senate Pro-tempore Cletus S. Wotorson, ALCOP National Chairman Daogogo Fahnbulleh said before reaching the decision, they met with Vice President Joseph N. Boakai based on an invitation extended to them.
     Mr. Fahnbulleh said VP Boakai commended AlCOP for its activities and officially requested them (ALCOP) to collaborate with UP in reelecting Madam Sirleaf.
      According to him, following extensive consultations, the Executive Council of ALCOP convened a meeting on September 14th 2011 and unanimously decided to collaborate with the governing block.
     He pointed out that ALCOP’s collaboration with UP is restricted to the elections of President Sirleaf and the Vice President or legislative candidates.
     For his part, ALCOP Standard Bearer Alhaji G. V Kromah assured partisans that they are committed to the 2nd term bid of Madam Sirleaf and as a true manifestation of their commitment; they would vigorously campaign to ensure that she is reelected as President of Liberia.
      Also speaking, the Standard Bearer of the Progressive Democratic Party , told partisans that their support to Madam Sirleaf was based on the interest of the state and the Liberian people; noting that  “ I will support any decision that is in their interest.”
     Meanwhile, UP National Campaign Manager, Cletus Wotorson, lauded the two opposition parties for their decision to support Ellen, which he described as wise and farsightedness.
