Prez. Sirleaf cutting the ribbon to Delta's arrivalThe first direct flight between Liberia and the United States of America in 20 years touched down Sunday afternoon, September 5, at the Roberts International Airport in Margibi County, some 40 miles from Monrovia.  One of America’s leading airlines, Delta, began its maiden flight to Liberia following months of preparation by Liberian and American civil aviation authorities.

 Hard Labor Reported At Local Banks

While Commercial Banks usually promote growth and development through the invaluable services they render the customers or nation at large, they accomplish these feats through the commitment of their skilled employees or laborers. The end of the Liberian civil war has seen many commercial banks trooping into the country and absorbing our compatriots as employees in an economy where the sky is the limit of unemployment. As Samuka V. Konneh of Our Staff Reports, the banks employees are bemoaning a near servitude work condition, notwithstanding the nations Legislative and executive agencies on labor regulations.

AFL Soldiers Reject Opinion Poll

Deserting soldiers of the newly trained Armed Forces of Liberia have refused calls by a Public Opinion Poll conducted by the Public Agenda to return to the barrack as patriots.
The soldiers who took the time to speak to this paper vehemently said they will not return to the barrack to serve as military personnel for several reasons.
