      A two-day international colloquium on women’s empowerment, leadership development, international peace and security held in the Liberian Capitol Monrovia, has provided an opportunity for over 1,000 national and international women to consolidate efforts aimed at improving their conditions.
        The colloquium co-convened by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and her Finland Counterpart Tarja Harlonen, was witnessed by many women who are also playing leadership role in other countries respectively.

     Economic freedom survey conducted out of 179 countries in the world, puts Liberia at 157 position
    The 2009 Index, a product of the Heritage Foundation and Wall Street Journal, is the first to assess Liberia's level of economic freedom. Liberia's economic freedom score is 48.1, making its economy the world's 157th freest. Liberia ranks 35th out of 46 countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, with its overall score below the world average.
